The Chinese government has been generously funding the upgrade of conventional lines, and the construction of tens of thousands of kilometers of highspeed passenger lines since 2004.
Besides traction transformers, ABB supplied its 27.5 kV ZX1.5-R and 10 kV ZX0 GIS switchgear, as well as the SAFE-series SF6 insulated switchgear for the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed rail project.
