Protect vulnerable capacitor units with Relion® 670 series

2010-07-02 - The Relion® 670-series products are now available with capacitor bank protection. This function detects dangerous operation situations and trips before any damage in the capacitor units occurs.

Capacitor banks are of great importance for safe operation of the power system. However, capacitor units are vulnerable for different phenomena occurring in the power system.
- Damages of the capacitor bank will be prevented giving both reliability as well as economic benefit, says Zoran Gajic, Global Product Manager at ABB Substation Automation Products in Sweden.
